What is a Casino Fundraiser?
AGLC (Alberta Gaming Liquor and Cannabis Commission) allows charities and non-profit organizations to fill shifts at casinos all over Alberta. A portion of the proceeds the casino brings in is divided up among the volunteer organizations for the quarter. The past year has seen each organization receive over $70K for their 2 days of service. What an opportunity for our school and most importantly, the kids!! These opportunities are available every 24-36 months depending on applications.
What are the requirements?
18 years +
Valid government ID
That's it!
Time with Friends
This is a perfect night to get to know other CCA parents and is great fun! You get a break to grab lunch or dinner on us. If you want to coordinate with some friends, feel free. Make this New Year's Eve unique by marking it with service :)
Volunteers do not need to be a part of our organization so if you have friends or family who would like to participate, get them to sign up with you!
What does the volunteering look like?
The process is simple: park in the parkade (parking is validated), show up at your allotted time and you'll receive the brief training required, no experience needed. The positions are simple and descriptions are provided in the sign up.
You’ll get a break to grab food from the casino. Be sure to bring a water bottle with you, and any snacks you might enjoy. There can be downtime, so be prepared to occupy yourself if necessary.
We look forward to seeing you there, celebrating the New Year with you (no drinking allowed on shift) and watching our students enjoy the fruits of our labours when that cheque rolls in!!
With gratitude,
CCA Currie Fundraising Society
